Duties / Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess and develop new African markets, suppliers, customers and distribution partners.
  • Build a credible pipeline through an established network and strong on-the-ground commercial instincts.
  • Structure, negotiate and execute purchase and sales agreements from first conversation to final payment.
  • Analyse pricing, margins, logistics, credit exposure and commercial risk to ensure profitable deals.
  • Coordinate with operations, finance, legal and leadership teams on compliant, workable transactions.
  • Monitor political, regulatory and market developments, resolving issues across shipment, payment and delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven trading, business development or commercial experience preferably also across African markets.
  • Strong network among suppliers, customers, distributors or relevant industry counterparties.
  • Demonstrable deal-making ability, including contract negotiation, margin management and risk assessment.
  • Comfortable owning the full trade cycle and navigating cross-border logistics.
  • Commercially curious, opportunity-led and willing to open doors where others see closed ones.

Education

Relevant commercial, supply chain, finance or business qualification advantageous.

Soft Skills

Confident relationship builder; sharp negotiator; commercially disciplined; resilient under pressure; and able to balance pace with sound judgement.
