Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Process daily transactions and maintain accurate records in Sage Accounting.
- Manage accounts payable, receivable and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and complete month-end and year-end procedures.
- Submit VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL returns.
- Support provisional and corporate income tax compliance.
- Reconcile balance-sheet accounts and maintain the fixed-asset register.
- Liaise with SARS, auditors, banks and external service providers.
- Improve accounting processes and support broader finance requirements.
Requirements
- Three to five years’ accounting experience in a similar role.
- Practical Sage Accounting experience.
- Hands-on SARS eFiling and tax-submission experience.
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- Strong knowledge of South African accounting principles and regulations.
- Advanced knowledge of VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL and corporate income tax.
Education
- Three-year diploma or bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
Soft Skills
Detail-oriented, ethical and dependable, with strong problem-solving and English communication skills. Must work independently, protect confidential information and deliver accurately under pressure and tight deadlines.
Salary
The proposed salary range is R30k – R40k per month. If you can demonstrate exceptional value, an offer of up to R50k per month can be negotiated. Any offer will be based on qualifications, experience and skills.
